Three Mississippi Municipalities Begin Converting Vehicles to Natural Gas

August 26, 2013

Three municipalities in Mississippi — Flowood, Pontotoc, and Quitman — are in various stages of converting City-owned vehicles to operate on compressed natural gas (CNG), according to natural gas services provider NGV Solutions.

Flowood plans to fund a pilot project to convert its vehicles to CNG, Pontotoc plans to add five CNG vehicles to its fleet, and Quitman plans to purchase a CNG-fueled refuse truck and police vehicles.

NGV Solutions operates a natural gas fueling facility in the Jackson, Miss., area.
