Connecticut Awards Clean Fuel Program Funds to Regional Government Entities

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced the Connecticut Clean Fuel Program funds it plans to award to regional municipalities and agencies. The fund total for this round is $925,776 and comes from the Federal Highway Administration through the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program.

The program’s goal is to encourage the use of alternative-fuel vehicles and or diesel retrofit technologies or emissions control devices. Funds given through the program pay the difference between buying a standard vehicle and an alternative-fuel vehicle or pay for the full cost of any diesel retrofit technologies. Funding recipients have until Dec. 31, 2014, to purchase a given vehicle or retrofit technology to receive reimbursement.

  • Town of Glastonbury $46,359
  • Greater Hartford Transit District $191,100
  • Town of Manchester $12,000
  • City of Meriden $31,000
  • Metropolitan District Commission $174,421
  • Norwich Public Works $13,453
  • Town of Ridgefield $7,700
  • UCONN $180,000
  • Town of Wallingford $27,300
  • Town of Wethersfield $20,460
  • Town of Windsor $14,912
