ESW Group acquired the assets and product line of Cleaire Advanced Emissions Controls LLC (Cleaire) on April 18. The company established a new wholly owned subsidiary, ESW CleanTech Inc. (“ESW CleanTech”), to house the acquired assets. Cleaire, which designed, developed, and manufactured retrofit emission control systems for diesel engines, ceased operations on Jan.18.

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has been working with owners, installers, and distributors of Cleaire products to provide continued support for Cleaire systems. An ARB release states that the board will continue to work with these parties as well as ESW CleanTech to ensure a smooth transition of ownership and continued product support.

ESW CleanTech acquired the company for $1.4 million plus a portion of gross profit realized on a certain purchase order. ESW CleanTech will provide technical and warranty support to Cleaire customers for their Cleaire products. ESW CleanTech will also remove all remaining original metal cores from LongMile systems.
