TACOMA, WA – Pierce County has installed new public charging stations at the County government’s downtown Tacoma campus and at the County’s Public Services Annex. In addition to those stations, three other stations have been installed at the County-City Building Those chargers will be used to provide power for three recently purchased Nissan LEAFs.

The public stations will cost $3 per charge, and operate by self-serve kiosks, and accept major credit and debit cards. The installation and purchase of the five charging stations were funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The public stations received funding via the DOE’s Petroleum Reduction Program and the three County-City chargers were funded by the DOE’s EV Project.
