Trumbull County Votes to Add GPS to 32 Vehicles

WARREN, OH - The Trumbull County, Ohio Commissioner’s Office voted Jan. 26 to add GPS to 32 vehicles, according to representatives from the Commissioner’s Office. The county decided to add GPS because it wants to keep track of the whereabouts of employees using its vehicles during work hours.

City of Greenwood Deploys Fleet Tracking System

GREENWOOD, MS - The City of Greenwood announced Jan. 24 that it will deploy GPS tracking systems on more than 100 of its fleet vehicles. By installing the FleetMatics GPS tracking system, City department heads will gain the ability to closely monitor fleet vehicles and make operational adjustments to optimize fleet performance.

Lake County Installs GPS on Snow Plows

WAUKEGAN, IL - The Lake County Division of Transportation (DOT) installed global positioning systems (GPS) on 32 snow plows and other DOT vehicles. These provide real-time vehicle tracking, as well as tracking of salt and de-ice material application.

Networkfleet State Mileage Report Simplifies Fuel Tax Reporting

SAN DIEGO - Networkfleet announced Dec. 16 the availability of new online State Mileage Reports to simplify fuel tax reporting required by commercial fleets. Fleet managers can now log on to Networkfleet's online fleet management system and generate reports showing the number of miles traveled for each vehicle by state.

County Fires Employees for Time Theft Caught on GPS

WARREN, OH - Two inspectors with the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer's Office were fired on Oct. 3 after GPS installed in their work vehicles confirmed they used the vehicles to make numerous and lengthy unauthorized stops at their homes and other locations during work hours.
