SORRENTO, LA – The Town of Sorrento, La., installed GPS tracking and fleet management devices in its entire fleet of 11 police cruisers, maintenance tractors, and trucks in an effort to increase efficiencies and reduce costs in operating the city’s vehicles. The Town chose Mobile Monitoring, a division of Acadian Monitoring Services, as the GPS provider, according to a release from the company.

According to a company representative, the mayor decided on the purchase and the decision was approved at a town hall meeting. The company installed the devices on the Town’s vehicles in June.

The devices will provide mileage logs, route tracking, speed notifications, maintenance alerts, and instant location services, among other features.
