ATLANTA - The City of Atlanta's Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has chosen to implement the Networkfleet GPS fleet tracking system to increase the efficiency of DWM service vehicles. The GPS system will assist the DWM in improving driver productivity, reducing operating costs, and enhancing safety and security, according to a release from Networkfleet.

The DWM will implement Networkfleet on 529 fleet vehicles, including those used in customer service, operations, and heavy-duty service, and maintenance trucks. DWM selected the company after a competitive RFP process because the company is a GSA provider and satisfied the department’s needs. According to Networkfleet, the capabilities the department found useful are:

  • Monitoring vehicle usage and accountability.
  • Measuring MPG and idle time.
  • Improving security and customer service.
  • Providing historical data and route optimization.
  • Achieving overall asset management.
