ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Bernalillo County has installed GPS tracking units on 200 fleet vehicles and plans to have them in 700 county vehicles, according to KASA. Officials hope the GPS units will reduce gasoline use by 15 percent and predict to have a return on investment in one year.

In addition, the GPS units will help provide oversight for the proper use of vehicles, including take-home vehicles, according to notes from an audit committee meeting regarding vehicle use.
