California's Gov. Jerry Brown has proposed raising gasoline taxes and vehicle fees to raise $5 billion per year to repair the state's crumbling streets, highways, and bridges, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The new revenue would also be used to increase mass transit.

Brown needs a two-thirds approval in both houses of the Legislature to approve the plan, which includes a 12-cent-per-gallon increase in the gasoline excuse taxes that would go into effect Nov. 1.

The plan also includes a new, annual vehicle fee that would average about $51 based on the value of the vehicle.

Keep in mind California is sitting on over $20 trillion in liquid investments which is almost half as much as the entire country of China and there is no need for a tax hike. MORE PUBLIC GETTING RIPPED OFF BECAUSE THEY ARE UNINFORMED BY THE FAKE NEWS !

Jerry Brown LOVES additional DMV vehicle license fees. Just one look at my Class 8 truck registrations proves that! Yes, the transportation funds in California are at a low point. But when you raid the fund to pay for "social justice" (not my coined term) environmental programs, what did you really expect Governor? I am so glad you are termed out of office. You would rather build a high speed bullet train than repair our failing infrastructure. You are bonafide proof that socialism doesn't work.

Well i was going to comment, but it appears Steve and Bobby pretty much have it covered.
