SAN RAFAEL, CA - Marin County supervisors have approved a $1,282,000 contract for 560,000 gallons of gasoline, diesel, and biodiesel. Golden Gate Petroleum of Martinez will supply the county with fuel for the next year, according to the Contra Costa Times.

The contract includes biodiesel in a B-20 blend that is 20 percent biodiesel and 80 percent diesel.

The program operates on a differential so that the base price the county pays fluctuates slightly depending on changes in the weekly average Oil Price Information Service rate, with adjustments made on a "cost for cost" basis, officials said, reported the Times.

The fuel will propel a county fleet of about 450 cars and trucks, plus road and other equipment that employees gas up at secured pumps at fire stations, sheriff's substations, corporation yards, and the Civic Center, according to the Times.
