PLACENTIA, CA - The City of Placentia recently revoked the take-home car privileges of nine police officers, according to The Orange County Register.
Facing an estimated $3.4 million mid-year budget shortfall, revoking the take-home car privileges of nine officers is an action the city estimates will save $25,000. The vehicles were unmarked cars used mainly by detectives, city officials said, reported the OC Register.
The city is continuing to examine other benefits to determine where additional cost-saving measures can be made.
