Nissan is offering an $8,000 fleet incentive for the 2016 and 2015 model-year LEAF electric vehicles. This is the first time Nissan has offered a fleet incentive for the LEAF. The incentive is available to commercial and government fleets and can be combined with federal and state rebates.

The rebate is available now, but details, such as minimum purchase amount, are still being worked out, said a Nissan spokesperson.

The S model of the 2016-MY LEAF is slated to retail for $29,010. Commercial fleets can qualify for the federal rebate of $7,500. Government fleets can apply for state incentives.

For government fleets within California, fleets operating within disadvantaged communities (based on pollution burden and population characteristics) can apply for a $10,000 rebate through the Public Fleet Pilot Project. This, with the $8,000 Nissan incentive, could bring the vehicle cost down to $11,010.
