KX121-3 Super Series Compact Excavator with New 6-in-1 Blade

Kubota

TORRANCE, CA - Kubota introduces its KX121-3 Super Series compact excavator with optional 6-in-1 hydraulic blade. The new blade is the first on the market with extended tilt functions, allowing the blade to be angled 25 degrees and tilted 10 degrees for greater efficiency when leveling and backfilling. The blade’s float feature puts the finishing touch on backfill projects. Kubota’s KX121-3 Super Series is ideal for rental users, contractors and landscapers.

“Our angle blades have been popular for years, and now Kubota is the first tractor manufacturer to offer a 6-in-1 blade in the compact excavator category,” says Keith Rohrbacker, Kubota product manager. “This new blade includes angle, tilt and float functions, making it more efficient than a traditional angle blade.”

KX121-3 Super Series: The Ultimate Digging Machine
Kubota’s powerful and versatile KX121-3 Super Series compact excavator combines smooth operation, reliability, large-bucket capacity and long reach. The KX121-3 is equipped with a four-cylinder, 40.5-horsepower diesel engine, and features a performance-enhancing, load-sensing hydraulic system that provides optimum oil flow to each cylinder, making operation under any load easier and smoother. With a choice between Kubota’s hydraulic Float Angle Blade or the new hydraulic 6-in-1 blade, leveling and backfilling work is finished quickly and easily.

6-in-1 Blade: Easy Operation, Higher Productivity
Kubota engineered the 6-in-1 blade for easy operation. As an additional enhancement, Kubota added a “T” button on top of the blade’s operating lever to control the new tilt function, so the same motion that operates the angle blade will maneuver the tilt blade. The 6-in-1 blade features an offset indicator which highlights angle and tilt, so the operator can easily judge the blade position at all times.

The KX121-3’s new 6-in-1 blade is also wider for increased capacity and productivity. The new wider blade is five feet, 11 inches wide and extends two inches past the KX121-3’s tracks on each side, increasing the blade’s capacity by eight percent. The blade’s wide design keeps soil out of the space between the blade and the tracks and allows operators to better shape edges and complete slopes. The KX121-3 with 6-in-1 blade will boost productivity in a range of excavating projects.

Kubota Adds Versatility, Power and Productivity to Popular B-Series Compact Tractors

Kubota

TORRANCE, CA - Kubota introduces four new models to its popular B Series compact utility tractor line. The new Kubota B2320, B2620, B2920 and the B3200 tractors are versatile, powerful and productive, featuring more horsepower, hydrostatic transmission (HST) with three-range transmission speeds to choose from, giving the operator enhanced power and control. The B3200 leads the pack with a 4-cylinder, 23 PTO horsepower, high performance E-TVCS (three-vortex combustion system) Kubota diesel engine, power steering and standard mid-PTO.

“The B-Series tractors have always been one of our most popular lines because they are small enough to be extremely versatile, yet powerful enough to conquer larger landscaping and even light construction jobs,” says Jeremy Coltin, Kubota product manager. “This year we have really taken the legacy of our B-Series tractors to a new height, giving customers even more value, with increased power, control and comfort.”

Combining Performance and ProductivityThe B2320, B2620 and B2920 come equipped with three-cylinder Kubota liquid-cooled diesel engines, while the B3200 features a four-cylinder engine. The entire series offers the E-TVCS engine for increased power, high torque, cleaner emissions and low noise and vibration. The three-range shift (high/medium/low) featured on the new B Series HST models lets operators find the right speed to suit their task. The HST provides smooth shifting and powerful performance for heavy-duty loader applications. Maximum traveling speed ranges from 11.2 to 12.3 mph, depending on model; the B3200 boasts an 8.1-gallon fuel tank.

Optimal Operator Safety and ComfortKubota’s B-Series tractors come standard with multiple safety and comfort features. All models in the series are equipped with a variety of safety features including: multi-reflective headlights for better visibility, backlit dash panel for tracking vital functions, and a slanted metal hood that offers a clear view of front loader operations. A foldable roll-over protection structure (ROPS) is standard. The B-Series also provides the operator with a high-back seat and large flat deck platforms for more leg room and a wider step area.

Ease of Implement Attachment and UseKubota’s B2320, B2620 and B2920 standard tractors are performance-matched with Kubota’s LA304/364 front loaders and BH65 backhoe. The B3200 is performance matched with the LA504 front loader and BH76 backhoe. The LA504 loader includes an optional Kubota quick coupler for easy attach/detach of attachments. The series is equipped with an optional four-position loader valve and lever control that is integrated with the tractor and ergonomically positioned for easy and quick use of a front loader and other front implements. These tractors also feature a new backhoe reversible seat (optional with backhoes) that swivels from front to back to provide more leg room for backhoe operation. BH65 and BH76 backhoes are also available with an optional 6-position mechanical thumb.

Pay Me Now or Pay Me Later

By Mike Antich
Fleet maintenance costs are trending upward compared to prior years. The key reason is the higher frequency of repairs on higher-mileage units as a result of the widespread deferment of equipment replacement by many government fleets. In a true case of "pay me now or pay me later," fleet managers face the challenge of how to hold maintenance costs down while operating an aging fleet.

Poor Fleet Management Can Kill

By Eric Bearly
In good times, your fleet operation can become an easy target for policy-makers trying to find money for pet projects. In hard times, the size of that target can grow out of control. When lifecycles are extended to extreme lengths, staff cuts go too deep, replacement funds are pilfered and logical fleet policy is replaced with uneducated number crunching, the results can be deadly.
