LSS222 Beacon

Code 3

ST. LOUIS - Code 3 now offers the LSS222 LED Beacon. This beacon has two levels of LED reflectors that provide a focused signal for superior brightness. Polycarbonate lens construction also provides a horizontal spread for easy identification of signal. With 39 flash patterns, including 4 simulated rotating patterns, this beacon provides plenty of options, including the ability to synchronize with the popular Code 3 XT Series. Low amp draw and bright output provide the ideal beacon for everyday use.

The LED modules have a 5 year warranty and meet SAE J845, Class 1 requirements. It is also California Title 13 compliant in red, blue, and amber and ECE65 compliant in blue LEDs.

The LSS222 beacon is available in both permanent mount and suction/magnetic mount with a 9-foot straight cord.

TriCore Technology for SuperVisor and WingMan

Code 3, Inc.

Code 3, Inc. announced SuperVisor and WingMan products are now available with TriCore Technology.

Patented TriCore Technology, exclusive to Code 3, delivers more light output per watt than any other current halogen, strobe, or LED lighthead.  It is more than two times brighter than any other warning light available today, according to the company.

SuperVisor is a low-profile interior light, contoured to fit against the upper interior of a windshield between the sun visors and glass.  At only 2" tall, the SuperVisor blends in with the interior of the car and remains unseen until energized.  A special housing prevents the lights from reflecting back into the driver's eyes.

The WingMan is designed to fit in the rear window of patrol vehicles and is the perfect complement to the SuperVisor.  Like the SuperVisor, it is just 2" tall, virtually undetectable from the outside and will not block the driver's view of traffic.

Both SuperVisor and WingMan come in vehicle specific designs to provide a custom fit.  Lightheads in the product can be independently wired in a variety of flash patterns.  All TriCore modules are covered by a 5 year warranty and are available in red, blue, amber or white.

Established in 1974, Code 3, Inc. designs and manufactures a complete line of emergency lighting and warning products for police, fire, emergency response, utility and industrial applications.  Code 3, Inc. is a Public Safety Equipment Company.

Pay Me Now or Pay Me Later

By Mike Antich
Fleet maintenance costs are trending upward compared to prior years. The key reason is the higher frequency of repairs on higher-mileage units as a result of the widespread deferment of equipment replacement by many government fleets. In a true case of "pay me now or pay me later," fleet managers face the challenge of how to hold maintenance costs down while operating an aging fleet.

Poor Fleet Management Can Kill

By Eric Bearly
In good times, your fleet operation can become an easy target for policy-makers trying to find money for pet projects. In hard times, the size of that target can grow out of control. When lifecycles are extended to extreme lengths, staff cuts go too deep, replacement funds are pilfered and logical fleet policy is replaced with uneducated number crunching, the results can be deadly.
