Buffalo Superintendent of Fleet Operations Pleads Guilty to Auction Theft
BUFFALO, NY – John Womer, the superintendent of fleet operations for the City of Buffalo, has plead guilty to one count of attempted grand larceny and one count of falsifying business records in the Buffalo City Court.
BUFFALO, NY – John Womer, the superintendent of fleet operations for the City of Buffalo, has plead guilty to one count of attempted grand larceny and one count of falsifying business records in the Buffalo City Court, according to a news release from the Erie County District Attorney’s office.
It is alleged that between November 24, 2010 and January 26, 2011, Womer kept a portion of the proceeds from the auction of impounded vehicles and falsified the sale price on City forms. Womer had been a City employee for 30 years. The release from the District Attorney’s office said Womer will be sentenced on August 15 and could face a maximum prison sentence of one year.
