SALT LAKE CITY - Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) implemented a Web-based motor pool management technology to manage its fleet of airport vehicles. The City selected the Agile FleetCommander, a Web-based system offered by Agile Access Control, Inc.

"The FleetCommander product was exactly what was needed,” said Airport Information Technology Manager Lisa Oldham. “We now have a fully automated motor pool that is secure and provides complete accountability for access to vehicles.  Even better is the fact that we have all of the data and reporting capabilities we need to fully understand how our fleet is being used."

According to Agile Access Control, the new system allowed the airport to cut the workload associated with fleet management by 90 percent while still maintaining the level of security required at the airport.

Airport staff worked with Agile to get the system installed 90 days after selecting the system and imported legacy data, customized it, trained personnel, and brought the new system online. Authorized airport staff can access vehicles via a full-color, touch-screen motor pool kiosk and an automated key box. The system allows users to select and reserve specific vehicles and pick up keys at the self-service kiosk at their reserved pick-up time. In addition, the system enforces airport fleet policies, which only allows drivers to access motor pool functions and vehicles that they are authorized for.

"We're really happy to be working with Salt Lake City International Airport,” said Matthew Wade, V.P. of sales and marketing at Agile. “ They completed their software and hardware installation without any on-site assistance from Agile's implementation team and had the system up and running without a hitch.  It says a lot about the technological prowess of the airport staff and the thought and detail our staff has put into FleetCommander."
