BOSTON - Massachusetts' Department of Energy Resources (DOER) will sign a memorandum of understanding with Nissan North America, Inc., beginning a non-exclusive partnership to explore ways to expand electric vehicle use in Massachusetts.

The signing is scheduled to take place Feb. 9 at the Museum of Science. Nissan's new all-electric Leaf will be on display at the event.

State energy officials will also meet to discuss the Commonwealth's broader initiative to encourage development and deployment of electric vehicle technology, consistent with the Patrick-Murray administration's nation-leading commitment to greenhouse gas emission reductions and to development of a regional low-carbon fuel standard.
