Sonoma County Cars Vandalized

SANTA ROSA, CA - The windshields of an estimated 70 cars were broken in at least three locations at the Sonoma County Administration Center on Dec. 23, reported KTVU.com.

County officials told KTVU that 70 county vehicles had smashed windows, with all the vehicles with broken windshields displaying "California Exemption" on their license plates and the majority also marked "For Official Use Only."

Sonoma County Fleet Manager David Head estimated it will cost between $250 and $1,000 to replace each windshield depending on the vehicle, according to KTVU. Healdsburg Auto Glass has the contract for that replacement, Head said.

Most county offices will be closed until Jan. 4.
