Chicago Streets & San. Comm. Returns to Fleet Manager Role

CHICAGO - Streets and Sanitation Commissioner Michael Picardi has returned to his old job as fleet management commissioner, replacing the recently retired Howard Henneman, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Mayor Daley replaced Picardi with former Chicago Police Officer-turned-Transportation Commissioner Tom Byrne.

DEF: A New Variable in Managing Government Fleets

As of Jan.1, DEF is now required for SCR-diesels to meet 2010 EPA emission standards. A growing number of public sector fleets are dispensing DEF at on-site fueling facilities.
