Texas Bans Cell Phone Use in School Zones

ARLINGTON, VA - Effective Sept. 1, all drivers in Texas school crossing zones are banned from talking on hand-held phones and texting, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Laws on cell phone use while driving vary, with some areas banning only talking on cell phones and others only prohibiting text messaging. For details on cell phone and texting bans in all states, go to www.iihs.org/laws/cellphonelaws.aspx.
