Frostburg State University Adds Hybrids to Vehicle Fleet

ARTICLE TOOLS        | E-MailPrint RSS

FROSTBURG, MD – Frostburg State University's vehicle’s fleet now includes five hybrids to replace less-efficient vehicles.

President Jonathan Gibralter said the Honda Civic hybrids get 43 to 45 miles per gallon compared to 24 to 30 miles per gallon of the Ford Tauruses and Chevrolet Malibus the hybrids are replacing, according to www.examiner.com.

Gibralter’s Jeep Grand Cherokee was replaced by a Toyota Highlander Hybrid, which also gets better gas mileage. He said he wants to keep replacing the university’s fleet vehicles with hybrids as often as the college can.
