ARTICLE TOOLS        | E-MailPrint RSS

HENRIETTA, NY – Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks’ 2008 State of the County addresses Monroe County's Green Fleet program, according to www.mpnow.com.

To celebrate Earth Day, Brooks launched a new county program called Green Fleet.

“The goal of the Green Fleet program is to develop the cleanest, greenest, and most fuel efficient vehicle fleet possible,” Brooks said, as quoted by www.mpnow.com.

“Starting right now, whenever possible, every new vehicle purchased by Monroe County will be powered by E-85 flex-fuel, an electric-gasoline hybrid engine, biodiesel, or another alternative energy source.”

Brooks hopes that the Green Fleet program, along with other environmentally friendly projects in the county, will help improve the quality of life for generations to come.
