City of Long Branch Focuses on Leaner and Greener Fleet

ARTICLE TOOLS        | E-MailPrint RSS

LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider Energy Review Committee met recently for a brain-storming session on how to create a more environmentally friendly city. Reducing police car idling and installing alternate refueling stations for the city’s fleet (a mixture of traditional fuel and soybean oil would cost 25 cents more a gallon) are among the initiatives, according to www.app.com.

The city also hopes to get credits for developing alternate transportation and are considering adding a shuttle bus to the train station or at least one bus stop within one quarter mile of city hall.
