Fleet Professionals to Gather for 19th CCG/FASTER National Conference

ARTICLE TOOLS        | E-MailPrint
NORFOLK, Va. - Fleet professionals nationwide will convene during the 19th CCG/FASTER Annual National Conference commencing on Oct. 1- 4, 2006 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriot Hotel in Norfolk, Va.

According to CEO Pam Nelson, with so many fleet operations being recognized for both excellence and improvement - especially the recognition garnered recently by FASTER customers in the industry - the theme “Pathways to the Pinnacle,” seems particularly fitting.

“Though the ‘pinnacle’ for one is certainly not the ‘pinnacle’ for all and, indeed, we each, both personally and professionally, have a wide range of objectives and priorities, learning from those who have found new pathways to reaching their definitions of the ‘top’ can only help us all during our continuing journey of achieving excellence,” Nelson said.

The conference features over 30 sessions and offerings, expert industry speakers and invaluable peer networking opportunities. This year’s conference also includes a new feature: an invitation for FASTER users to participate in the final testing phase of the newest FASTER release prior to the conference proper. The invitation ensures cross-sectional customer feedback is incorporated in the new release.

The fleet-packed agenda ranges from effectively implementing PM programs and compliance, setting up coding and utilizing reports to manage parts, maximizing shop floor performance, tracking fuel from cradle to grave, managing costs, to name a few.

Keynote speakers include Mike Antich, the editor and associate publisher of Automotive Fleet and the editor of four other fleet publications (Government Fleet, Fleet Financials, Vehicle Remarketing and Business Driver), Bob Stanton, one of three finalists for the public sector fleet manager of the year and a pioneer in finding solutions and establishing policies to issues like the technician shortage and SUV utilization; and Win Mitchell, an industry visionary who’s been working with manufacturers in developing more fleet-focused alternative fuel equipment options.
