Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb

Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb

Grote Industries

MADISON, IN – Grote Industries, a high-performance LED lighting technology provider for the transportation industry, introduced the Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb, the newest member of its LED WhiteLight Work Lamp Portfolio.

The Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb turns any PAR 36 incandescent lamp into an LED WhiteLight Lamp. With the simplicity of changing a light bulb, users can upgrade an existing incandescent or halogen lamp, transforming it into a brilliant 900-lumen LED WhiteLight lamp that lasts longer, shines brighter, and delivers beam evenness, color temperature and contrast like sunlight, said Grote.

PAR 36 work lamps are among the most widely used lamps in the world, particularly within the heavy-duty trucking industry.  However, with the life span of an incandescent bulb rated at only 25 to 500 hours, the cost of ownership for these lamps adds up over time. Factor in the loss of human and vehicle productivity associated with bulb outages and the time to obtain and replace bulbs and the cost rises exponentially. The energy consumption of incandescent and halogen lamps increases their operating expense as well.

Grote's Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb is rated for a service life of 40,000 hours, uses only one-half the power and will likely never need to be replaced. In many cases, the bulb will outlast its housing and the vehicle on which it is installed, the company said.

As with its other LED WhiteLight products, Grote has also equipped the new offering with superior optical characteristics, according to the company. The bulbs come in a wide flood beam pattern and Grote's new TractorPlus beam pattern. In certified tests performed by Grote, both the wide flood and TractorPlus LED bulbs produced beam patterns that delivered almost three times more usable light, compared to traditional PAR 36 bulbs.

All Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulbs are manufactured with rugged UV, hard-coated, polycarbonate lenses that can be replaced if damaged.  The lenses are easily interchanged and conversion from a wide flood to TractorPlus lens can be accomplished within moments.

Elgin rear view camera

Mobile Camera System

Elgin Sweeper

ELGIN, IL - Elgin Sweeper has introduced the Elgin Mobile Camera system as an option for its line of environmentally efficient street sweepers. The multi-camera system, which includes both mirror and rear-view camera kits, provides sweeper operators with expanded visibility to the main and side brooms - as well as to the rear of the sweeper - for improved performance.

"Street sweepers often need to negotiate tight spots, take difficult corners and make critical maneuvers in reverse, which requires good visibility to the front, sides and rear of the machine, as well as to the traffic and work areas," said Frank Ligori, national parts marketing manager at Elgin Sweeper. "With the Elgin Mobile Camera system, the monitor in the cab provides the operator with a detailed view of the main and side brooms to check the collection of debris. The operator can also switch to a rear view of the sweeper when backing up, turning or changing lanes."

In 2008, Elgin Sweeper began installing rear-view cameras on new street sweepers as standard equipment, with the side mirror camera kit available as an option. Available for Elgin Sweeper's Broom Bear, Crosswind, Eagle, Pelican and Whirlwind models, the cameras and monitor are designed for durability and can withstand the knocks, bumps and vibrations sweepers encounter on a daily basis.

The Elgin Mobile Camera system includes such features as high-resolution Sony CCD cameras for outstanding image quality; 5.6-inch color TFT-LCD monitors; automatic reverse or turn signal camera activation; infrared LEDs for night vision and multi-voltage capability (12/24 VDC). The system also includes a two-year warranty.

"For sweepers already in service, the complete Elgin Mobile Camera system is available as a retrofit package which combines the rear-view and side mirror camera kits," Ligori said. "These fit on Elgin sweepers and can also be installed by your local Elgin dealer on other brands of sweepers."

"The mobile camera system is yet another example of Elgin Sweeper's commitment to our municipal and contractor customers to improve operator performance and comfort," Ligori said.

For additional information or detailed specifications on the Elgin Mobile Camera system, please see your local Elgin Sweeper dealer, call 1-847/741-5370, or visit www.elginsweeper.com.

Elgin Sweeper offers municipalities, contractors and industries the most sweeper options in the country, using the latest sweeping technologies-mechanical, pure vacuum, regenerative air, alternative fuel and waterless dust control. Ka-Band or K-Band antennas

November 18 2009 - Products

Raptor RP-1 Ka-Band Antennas

Kustom Signals

LENEXA, KS - The Raptor RP-1 from Kustom Signals now offers the choice of Ka-Band or K-Band antennas for both vehicle and motorcycle applications.

Raptor RP-1 is the smallest moving Doppler radar system on the market, according to Kustom Signals. This small size allows for more mounting options in a patrol vehicle.  The Raptor RP-1 is also small in energy consumption - using only 57 percent of the power required from similar systems.

Raptor RP-1 features patented DuraTrak technology, which incorporates a signal duration tracking algorithm that tracks multiple targets and graphically displays tracking history for strongest and fastest targets. For officers, this means a new level of confidence in target identification and complete tracking history never seen before in a moving radar platform, according to Kustom Signals.

In addition to DuraTrak, the Raptor RP-1 includes two other patented features: TruTrak, which interfaces with the patrol vehicle's speed sensor (VSS) and virtually eliminates patrol shadowing and combining; and Smart Patrol Search (SPS) software used when the speedometer input is not connected to reduce patrol shadowing and combining when coming out of Hold mode.

Complete enforcement control is available from the easy-to-read graphical display with larger speed readings and full text messages.  The display also features automatic or manual backlight adjustment with day or night display settings.

The waterproof display, remote and directional K or Ka-band antennas also make the Raptor suitable for motorcycle applications.  Raptor for motorcycles comes with a specially designed thumb remote for the handlebar, allowing ease of operation on the road.  Mounting kits are available for the BMW R1200RT, Harley Road King, Harley Electra Glide and Honda ST1300P.

Established in 1965, Kustom Signals Inc., a Public Safety Equipment Company, designs and manufactures a complete line of speed enforcement, speed awareness and in-car video systems for law enforcement agencies.

Digital Eyewitness G3 Vision

Digital Eyewitness G3 Vision

Kustom Signals

The new Digital Eyewitness G3 Vision from Kustom Signals allows simultaneous recording from up to four cameras. Cameras may be positioned to simultaneously record activity both outside (front, back, and side) and inside the patrol vehicle. The G3 Vision achieves maximum video documentation during traffic stops.

Also new on the G3 Vision is a 24/7 recording mode that maximizes the hours recorded on a hard drive or compact flash drive. This feature records at a low frame rate (5 or 10 frames per second) during normal patrolling, but shifts into real-time (30 frames per second) when the lightbar or other automatic record trigger is activated.

The G3 Vision allows control of the in-car video system from an enhanced Mirror Monitor with easy-to-operate controls or through a Mobile Data Computer (MDC).  The small camera(s) and audio system are the only other components in the patrol vehicle.

One high resolution, color zoom camera comes standard with each G3 Vision.  Up to three additional cameras, zoom and/or wide angle, can be added to increase video coverage.  The wide angle camera is a compact color / black & white model that automatically switches from color to black & white when there is not enough light for quality color images.

Audio recording is handled through the ClearComm wearable transmitter.  A hard-wired in-car microphone is also included to record inside the vehicle. Dual audio tracks allows these recordings to be played back separately.

The G3 Vision offers wireless, wired or manual file transfer; hard drive or compact flash media options; up to 3 minutes of pre-event recording on two channels; and files are compatible with Kustom's DEMM and KustomNet file management systems.

Established in 1965, Kustom Signals Inc., a Public Safety Equipment Company, designs and manufactures a complete line of speed enforcement, speed awareness and in-car video systems for law enforcement agencies.

BOLT Series of Locks

Strattec

MILWAUKEE - STRATTEC Security Corp. has just created a series of locks that open with your car or truck key. The new BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) Series of locks incorporate a patented, automotive-style cylinder that enables users to insert their car or truck key, turn once, and program the lock to that key. Any number of padlocks or other locks in the series can be set by the owner to a single key, according to the manufacturer.

In addition, since the BOLT Series locks use an automotive-grade cylinder with a shutter and six-plate tumbler, they have the highest corrosion resistance rating and are nearly impossible to pick or bump.

"Imagine the convenience of having just one key for all your locks, and it's the key you always have with you," said STRATTEC Director of New Market Development Mike Long.  "We anticipate huge interest in this product among a variety of users, from auto/truck enthusiasts and outdoorsmen to contractors and fleet managers."

The BOLT Series will be unveiled to a national audience at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Marketing Association Show in Las Vegas, Nov. 3-6.  A press conference to introduce the product will take place Nov. 4 at 1:45 p.m. in the show's Media Center.

The product was previewed earlier this year, winning "best new product" awards at the 2009 Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) and the 2009 International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST) shows. Made in the USA, the BOLT Series will also be marketed by Wisconsin-based DuraSafe Inc. in the marine and outdoor markets.

The BOLT Series of locks will initially include a padlock and receiver lock, with a cable lock, spare tire lock, and other products to follow.  The company estimates the BOLT Series locks fit over 88 percent of light trucks and over 70 percent of all Ford, GM and Chrysler vehicles on the road, making them compatible with 111 million vehicles.

STRATTEC is the world's largest manufacturer of automotive locks and keys, and supplies ignition locks and keys to all three U.S. automakers. For more information about the STRATTEC BOLT Series of locks, visit www.STRATTEClock.com.
