California State Senator to Plead ‘No Contest' to Reckless Driving in State Vehicle
SACRAMENTO, CA – Solano County prosecutors said they will be filing a misdemeanor complaint against State Senator Carole Migden for her “wild ride” on Interstate 80 that ended when her state-issued SUV rear-ended another car, according to the Web site

Migden recently released a statement saying she will plead no contest to reckless driving for the incident last May. She is expected to pay a fine. Migden will not be arrested or booked into jail, according to L. Kathryn Coffer, chief deputy district attorney of Solano County, as reported in the Sacramento Bee.
Migden reportedly made an unsafe turn and was traveling at an unsafe speed. Her use of a cell phone while driving contributed to both crashes, the CHP said in a published report.
The 58-year-old Migden revealed after the accident that she had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1997, saying that her doctors had determined her erratic driving was the result of a medical condition.
