PLANT CITY, FL - The Plant City, Fla., police department recently rolled out four Commander I Victory Police motorcycles for its traffic management unit, replacing Harley-Davidsons. The City cited a warranty and maintenance agreement that would save thousands, according to the Tampa Tribune.
City Council approved the purchase in June. The motorcycles each cost $18,499 plus $12,678 in additional equipment, totaling $124,708. Equipment includes emergency lights, siren, skid plate, radar, two-way radio, etc. The vehicles were paid for by funds allocated in the police department's budget, according to a City agenda report.
