PHILADELPHIA – The Burlington County government has trimmed its vehicle fleet by 10 percent, a move that represents about $350,000 in gas, maintenance, and insurance savings, according to the head of the county Board of Freeholders.

Aubrey Fenton, director of the freeholders, said 64 vehicles, valued at $1.6 million at the time of their purchase, are being eliminated and will not be replaced, according to www.phillyburbs.com.

The county’s fixed assets record lists 674 vehicles, including backhoes, trailers and dump trucks as well as passenger vehicles.
