IRVINE, CA – The University of California, Irvine announced plans to replace lead wheel weights from the tires in its fleet, taking its cue from Contra Costa County.

SAN FRANCISCO – Contra Costa County has voluntarily committed to replace all lead wheel weights from thousands of tires, resulting in a reduction of more than 2,000 lbs. of lead from the environment by 2012.
