GLENVIEW, IL - Navman Wireless North America announced an upgrade to its OnlineAVL2 vehicle tracking and logistics system that aids managers of larger service fleets in cutting costs and increasing productivity. The software now offers Executive Summary reports that consolidate key performance indicators for multiple vehicle groups and/or an entire fleet on a single screen, enabling fleet managers and executive-level personnel to quickly identify opportunities for improvement.
The new report provides total hours, total travel time, total distance, stop time, total hour idle and total number of idles for groups of vehicles (eg Sales & Service, Distribution, Delivery) or the overall fleet for any time frame specified by the user (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.), as well as averages for each metric across all fleets. This yields a snapshot of overall operations as well as performance differences among vehicle groups.
The data can be used to monitor idle times to support fuel reduction initiatives, pinpoint productivity problems caused by excessive stops, guide mileage policy changes based on distances driven, and impose other cost, fuel and vehicle usage controls. Reports can be configured to run automatically on a designated schedule and emailed to specific users.
OnlineAVL2's new Executive Summary reporting feature is included with new product purchases at no extra charge and provided as a free upgrade to current customers, either on request or during the next scheduled automatic software update.
"Uncovering the inefficiencies in a larger fleet can be difficult if you only have operations reports presented by vehicle. Managers need to see the data from both the bottom up and the top down. Many vehicle tracking systems lack that ability," said Renaat Ver Eecke, Vice President, Navman Wireless North America. "Our new Executive Summary report makes it possible to see the worst-performing vehicles or groups of vehicles in even the biggest fleets at a glance. It's an essential tool if you have a lot of vehicles on the road."
This latest upgrade to OnlineAVL2 extends the system's ability to help fleet managers reduce expenses, increase fleet productivity, and improve customer service. The combination of the Online AVL2 desktop application and the companion Qube vehicle-mounted satellite tracking device delivers advanced features such as wide area mapping down to the street level, the ability to identify individual drivers, polygonal geofence functionality for defining driver territories, robust two-way messaging options, and the market's most comprehensive real-time and historical vehicle/driver activity reporting.
