Public sector fleet managers continue to face challenging times. With the pressures of balancing a shrinking budget, many battle rising fuel costs, the need to go green, liability and safety concerns, and an onslaught of new technologies.

To help government fleet managers meet these challenges head-on, Government Fleet will stage the Government Fleet Expo & Conference, "Inspiring Innovation: Meeting Fleet Challenges With Creative Solutions" June 8-11 at the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center in San Diego.

Conference Features Ride & Drive and Training Sessions

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to test-drive the latest vehicles and newest off-road equipment at the conference’s ride & drive event.

"Our ride & drive will be available all day Monday and Tuesday," said Eric Bearly, GF regional sales manager.

Those attending may also tour a public sector fleet facility managed by an award-winning fleet manager. The conference’s detailed agenda includes training sessions, roundtable discussions, panels, keynotes, and other learning opportunities.

"We surveyed hundreds of public sector fleet managers to develop a conference by the fleet manager for the fleet manager," Bearly said.

The speaker lineup will feature successful fleet managers sharing their best practices on topics such as:

• Going green.

• Harnessing software and technology.

• Managing fuel costs.

• Hiring and keeping technicians.

• Reducing risk and liability with safety programs.

• Vehicle and equipment spec’ing, cycling, and remarketing.

• Benefits and drawbacks of outsourcing certain services.

• Consortium buying.

• Maintenance management.

• Practical uses for GPS/telematics.

• Truck equipment and upfitting.

"The future holds many challenges," Bearly said. "With the proper training and tools, fleet managers will be able to meet them head-on. We look forward to seeing you at the show!"
