NEW YORK – New York City’s Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) has partnered with Property Room and Copart to auction City fleet vehicles online.

New York City operates 27,000 vehicles and pieces of equipment across 60 agencies. DCAS stated that each year, it replaces, and sells by auction, up to 2,500 of these units. City employees are not allowed to bid on City vehicles and equipment.

DCAS said this partnership will give New York City access to an expanded market for selling its fleet units and potentially more revenue.

Public buyers can register via the Copart website here.
