Coffee County, Tennessee, Sheriff's Office has entered into a patrol vehicle leasing agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management.

The Sheriff's Office has approximately 26 patrol vehicles that are used daily and average about 20,000 miles a year. Most of the patrol vehicles have over 100,000 miles on them, with some having over 200,000 miles.

Under the new leasing program, the county will be able to rotate out these vehicles sooner and get more equity out of the sale of the vehicles.

The Sheriff's Office said in an official Facebook post that the county has purchased three to four patrol vehicles in the past few years. The rest of the fleet, including the investigator and administrative vehicles, have been purchased through the Drug Control Fund. However, officials said that the fund is not a reliable source of income for purchasing vehicles.
